90210 Meets Y2K
By Declan McCullagh
April 28, 1999

If you're a Y2K devotee, you won't want to miss tonight's episode of "Beverly Hills, 90210" on Fox.

Titled "The End of the World as We Know It," the episode shows legendary screwup and glamorboy Steve Sanders (played by Ian Ziering) turning Y2K survivalist.

No word yet on whether he'll be stockpiling heavy artillery or how he'll find fuel for the Vette in post-apocalyptic SoCal. Though Ziering should have the right experience in the rough-and-tumble crowd: He happens to be the voice of Vinnie in the syndicated cartoon "Biker Mice From Mars."

The show includes references to Jason Kelly's forgettable potboiler, Y2K: It's Already Too Late, the author says. "I don't know how extensive the appearance will be, but I signed a release form granting permission to Fox Network so there should be some type of showing," Kelly emailed us yesterday evening. By then it was too late to call Fox for details, so we'll take his word for it.
